Paracetamol is an product of metabolizing phenacetine, which used to be a popular antipyretic and analgesic. Unlike fenacetine and its variations , this drug is not thought to be the cause of cancer in its therapeutic doses. In different countries different names are used, in America, it is commonly referred to as acetaminophen while in most European countries the term paracetamol is most commonly used, it is also sometimes referred to as APAP.
